Pas De Deux

A pas de deux is a dance duet in which two dancers, typically a male and a female (a danseur and a ballerina) perform ballet steps together. Dance is forbidden in Islam. I used Islamic patterns as a metaphor of people living under theocracy and created a duet shadow dance between red and green patterns. Both red and green color have a large history and social background in Iran. The green color is a symbol of Islam, however after the green movement in 2009, a new meaning has been addressed for this color. Red is the sign of resistance, fight and martyrdom.
